I just found the 1975 Australian Open finals match on youtube. Most of the match is there in about 4 different videos. It pits Connors versus Newcombe and I think it is the last time Newk defeated Connors and I am pretty sure it is Newk's last win at a major. The match is really exciting and dramatic. It does not reach the level of skill and ingenious shotmaking of a Federer-Nadal match but it makes up for it in sheer drama. And the stadium where they played (it has a funny name, hard to pronounce) is sort of like a bandbox in contrast to today's monstrosities and the fans are right on top of the action, making it much more dramatic. Bud Collins has pointed out that in matches where the fans are right on top of the action, you get alot more drama. This is a match worth checking out on youtube.
