Elena baby is in the final
at the Qatar Telecom German Open, and has... over the last few months... defeated Shahar, Ivanovic, Shnyder, Jankovic
and again Ivanovic today.
She's tightened up her serve-- first serve percentage at 58%, and only 1 double fault in her match with Ivanovic today.
At age 26, Elena Dementieva... is coming into her own; she is a veteran on tour, and beginning to improve the areas of her game that she wanted to improve. She won't be surprised by an opponent now; she's played too many girls to have that happen. She has no distractions, and she is focused;-- there might never be a better time for her to win a hard court major... within the next 16 months.
And some new photos at her official website show her at a peak of physical beauty:

And this last one is just FABULOUS! She is peaking-- an international tennis celebrity-- a top ten athlete with fans on five continents, and no tennis woman has ever taken a photo like this one:

She gives credit to her opponents in her interviews, and has tact and grace. She's sometimes shy, and always revealing,
and she's number nine in the world. Not a bad place to be for a woman at age 26. For a little blonde girl whom Marat Safin's mom taught...
she wanted to find her way in life, and be respected for HER profession... and not her looks? Elena Dementieva, with an Olympic Silver, can say she's done a lot:

The above link at ask men dot com? It says of her:
"Blonde, tall and cute, Elena is almost the stereotype of the blonde hottie. She has a cheery demeanor on the court, giving her an irresistible schoolgirl charm, especially when she ties her hair in a ponytail. She throws her arms up for joy when she scores, and contorts her face into a poignant grimace when she loses, always desirable in her range of emotions. And in a sexy Yonex tennis dress that shows off her legs, the word LOVE acquires a double meaning."
I would say that about covers it. And she has men all over the world saying to themselves: Oh, you precious little thing; I love watching you on my TV.

She's grown up right in front of cameras-- from the way she looked long ago:

To the way she looks now; the girl is now gone,
and into womanhood she grows:

Into the past the matches fade in memory;-- but there is always tomorrow. The lessons... that tennis teach... last forever... and as the years pass?
One season.... into the next....the sport of tennis keeps on making demarcated points in all of tennis fans' lives,
and the girl who played with Marat's mom so long ago.... is on her own, and facing the back end... of yet another year... on the toughest circuit in womens sports.
She's a woman now, and the girl she was.... exists only in photographs and memories.
But she's at that one small moment... IN time... when Cosmopolitan magazine says a woman is... IN her prime; the girl is gone and she's a woman now:
