    Davy's racquet sets a record

Imagine playing a whole tournament with one racquest and winning it!  I thought he mentioned Yonex but it should be in the Tennis Hall of Fame. Aside from the racquet he played incredible tennis. Those angled shots and Nadal's total bafflement were totally unexpected. After twisting in the wind over this endless investigation it was a great boost for him. Too bad he is so mournful on the court. He looks like a guy who just came from a funeral. I felt terrible for Nadal but all the great ones meet a player on a streak and it was his turn like Fed and Canas last year.

I love this story about the racquet. Remarkable! I don't understand how it was strung that he didn't need to change up, thank you poor broadcasting! I don't see him as mournful, just unassuming. If you watch him closely, he talks to himself at times and has very intense movements. I felt awful for him when some drunks at the Open called him a bald freak. Again, could you get away with that at Giants Stadium? Yea, he is different but what a workhorse. And the support of his family is remarkable. I think he took off one week last year or the year before to get married. Think of all the hubbub with Lleyton Hewitt's marriage and child and Kim Clijsters (I could not wait for her to get married, finally, so we didn't have to hear about again). Safin and his woes with golddiggers.

Interesting that no Spaniards or Latins win this tournament but come close, a couple finals. Wonder if there is a curse.

Put the racquet in the Hall of Fame if he allows it. He seems very attached to it. Probably will sleep with it if his wife agrees. At least it is not a trumpet!

    Wow! Davydenko

Davydenko's playing was utterly awesome - zone-like.  To be ranked as I high as he is, he obviously has been playing brilliant tennis and I have seen him do that, but not like this - not to this level.  He was practically perfect and uttelry overpowering.  To see both Roddick and Nadal sputter at his hands was amazing.  It is every player's dream (even amateurs too) to play their best and to keep doing it for a few important matches in a row, let alone forever.  We'll see how long this patch keeps up for him.  He will probably never get these moments, nor will his fans.

I believe he said his racquet is a Prince, but I don't know what style.  I would like to know, though.  I couldn't tell if it was one that had those big holes.  He, obviously, had it restrung between matches.  I suppose he would restring after practices too.

I wish Rafa had won, but I am happy for Nikolay.  He played unbelievable against Roddick.  I did not see the match with Nadal.  I am sure he played great.  Good Job!!
