Nice to see Wawrinka get a big win but I would have like to see both Blake and Roddick in there. Fed came up against Stepanek and played very inconsistent tennis. The number of shanked backhands was remarkable. Stepanek was cool, crafty and stayed the course. As a fashion note he wore perhaps the ugliest shirt I have seen on the tour in some time.But Radek continually suprises with yet another beauty by his side. Nicole V.  Roddick was played close by Robredo but earned his win and it was great to see an American in the semis on clay. For some reason I convinced myself that Almagro was going to be huge against Djoko. So did the crowd which had a mini riot until let into the stadium only to see him default with an injured wrist. Once again the paying customers are stiffed. He's had a walkover with Gonzalez so I thought ht was fit to play. Clearly I have picked another Nalbandian to obsess over  since I have thought he would go into the top ten. Oh well.
