I was looking at some photos of her, and she certainly looks like she is in great shape. Anyone think she can win the French Open?

In these beach photos, she does not have any extra weight around her waist. She's gotta be in good shape. She will turn 28 years old on June 17th, just before Wimbledon. She's certainly not over the hill at that age.

Looking at her year thus far, after flaming out of Memphis in February she has generally beaten the players she is supposed to beat. She has not played in that many tournaments, though. Can she get another major?

I like Venus a lot and would never want to disregard her chances completley, but given the fact she has not played a clay-court match in 1 year (realize she will be back) and that she has not played a tournament since Miami in March that will be a very tough task. Just hope she makes it to Paris. If we were talking about Wimbledon - where she has been in the Wimbledon final 6 of the last 8 years and has been the dominant grass-court player of her era, I would say aboslutely she can win even if she hadn't played all year. But the French has been her least successful major. She's had 11 losses lifetime in Paris which almost matches her combined career losses at Wimbledon and the Open (she's 51-7 at Wimbledon and 48-7 at the Open so only 14 losses at those two tournaments combined and 11 at the French).

Obviously, Justine Henin is looking vulnerable at this point so the French is a lot more wide open than it has been in recent years, but I thikn the lack of match play in general and lack of clay-court match play in particular will be too tough for Venus to overcome  - hope I am wrong.
