That's not easy to do. W/out looking at Seppi's record at Wimby, I'd bet the Italian hasn't gotten past the second round ever. This is not earth-shattering news, but Blake has had it. Losing to Wawrinka in Davis Cup, not making any noise at INdy Wells or Miami that I can remember. PMac would be loco if he puts Blake in the starting lineup on clay against Croatia. I'd go Fish or Querrey, for sure.

Guess Blake was unlucky he didn't face Santoro.

Blake's clay court record this year is actually about as good as his hard court record, which is very very sad. I'd still favor Blake over Fish on clay, but it's worth considering Querrey for the tie. Sam played very well in last year's tie against Spain; I'd say he might deserve a second opportunity. Blake's post-match comments seem to indicate that he's starting to question himself much more. Seppi actually had a decent run at the event last year before losing to Safin.

At 29 Blake is finished and it's his damn fault. He's done nothing to boost his performance for several seasons. Just a record of steady decline. Still got the same coach and after what looks like another bad year should resign and stop taking his money. As Tom Perretta said last year, James should totally skip Roland Garros from now on. No points really to defend. Go to play doubles and enjoy some parisiennes before heading over the Channel.

This lost just proves that his head is not in it at the moment. No way should he be on the Davis Cuo squad.

I've watched Blake play for a few years. Once he starts loosing, he appears to have lost all confidence and go on to lose. What a waste! You can tell by his body language that he is going to lose the match.
