    ESPN360 is great

I have been watching Wimbeldon via ESPN 360 and it is really great to be able to switch between so many different matches.  I don't know if Wimbledon's broadcasts are sharper than the French Open's had been, but they seem to be clearer on my computer.  In England, I believe they broadcast Wimbledon on multiple BBC channels, so they must be picking up their feeds and it is a pleasure.  I particularly enjoy sampling the different broadcasters.  There are even some Americans on board and the teams all beat what broadcast television has been offering, including the crowd on ESPN2, which has been turning me off with all their blather.  They just love talking and it is so annoying.  I will never be able to stomach *** Enberg's useless garbage - I wish he would retire for good already.  There is a reason he was dumped from his original network sports position; I don't know why they took him back, but he is not the only one who I can no longer stand.  Bravo ESPN360.  Too bad it hasn't translated to cable yet.

Although it took me four hours with a nice man in India (computer froze so had to repeat the whole thing) I managed to get my Verizon password changed which for some reason ESPN would not accept. That done I quite agree with you although I preferred the direct from Wimbledon last year which seemed sharper to me but this is better than the live feed from the French. I do not know why they feel they have to talk so muc and as much as Brad Gilbert amuses me (he can be marvelously politically incorrect) he talks entirely too much. I have watched tennis for so many years that  I often wonder what audience they are addressing. Tennis fans tend to be pretty involved and pretty astute so when they drone on it is easier to go to mute. But I like the ESPN 360 a lot.

The announcing is generally very annoying on the television broadcasts. They never stop yapping. They must be paid by the word. The other day there was a Venus Williams match (they don't show any women other than Venus or Serena)  and Mr. Enberg was going on and on about Billie Jean King. Who cares? She retired thirty five years ago. I am sure Mr. Enberg is a nice felllow, but please, give it a rest. We do not want to hear about some match that Billie Jean played in forty years ago.
