    Del Potro

I certainly give Hewitt full credit for the win, but I felt Del Potro was very flat. I think Brad made a great point when he mentioned that Del Potro should not have explained that Hewitt was one of his main idols. I feel Del Potro is too respectful of the top players. There's no reason a player like DelPo should be double bagled by Roger. If he had more self belief, he would have beaten Roger at the French. I worry that Del Potro's lack of intensity will stop him from making a major surge to the top of the rankings. I saw a comment on BBC about how Del Potro felt he may never win Wimbledon, but he will still continue to try. There's no reason why he can't be number one in the world, but he doesn't have the self-confidence of a Murray or a Djoko despite the fact that he is more talented.

    Re: Del Potro

Del Potro is the Lindsey Davenport of mens tennis, without the 3 majors, a number he will never reach. Hewitt is 100 times more interesting to watch, and can make changes during the match. Hewitt's serve died in the third set, percentage down, mph's down and Del Potro couldnt take advantage until Hewitt got nervous serving for the match.

As far as this whole coming out flat "bs". Every loser  now has the :I was flat" speech ready to go. Patrick Ewings many post Knick playoff losses would break out the "We came out flat, but we the better team" speech. So sick of it

    Re: Del Potro

Not sure del Potro is missing confidence or intensity.  When he gets Smoked by Fed it is apparent Fed gets him off balance with drop shots and with movement.  del P. is hard working and has Humongous shots but his movement is a bit ungainly per his size.  If he can fine tune movement and court coverage he can succeed.  The grass exacerbates his difficulty changing position, one more great thing about grass.

Hewitt is savvy, experienced, confident and quick.  He has defused big bombers before.
