• Re: Barclay ATP World Tour- A White Elephant

I read about this in the English press. They found his motives to be pretty odd. Frankly I am not sure how seriously the players are taking this outside of the of the money. Someone had a good post about how tennis fans really only focus on the majors where you have to fight your way through a crowded field with upsets looming everywhere as ...

  • Re: xiowa's mini contest 11-16-2009

My becks are neck in neck. Dreadful pun. Worst is Redheads pathetic belief in Donald Young which has been going on despite all evidence to the contrary. I would love to know more about Galung who appears is from the Netherlands.Never heard of him before.

  • Re: Rejuvenated Djokovic ready to be king in 2010

I loved LeConte but (please do not let my French brother in law read this) these French players are so talented and well coached from an early age in a marvelous tennis federation but they seem to be unable to close in on the crucial points. Quite frankly I often like to watch them because they are stylists and Santoro was the toughest of the ...

  • Re: Andre has a way of coming out on top, and the rest of us are fools to let him...

I have chair in Barnes and Noble on 86th Street around from the sports section and that is where I read sports books and will read Andre's Recently Two of the worst were the one on Sampras and the one on Fed both still pretty careful about guarding their lives or just really not terribly interesting or just had writers who couldn't get past either ...

  • Re: Agassi admits use of crystal meth

I think TTexas is making a good point one I have always made to teachers in the schools where I was a librarian. Considering the age of the players and their varied backgrounds they are remarkably mature compared to others of that age. I think that they realize they have to practice endlessly to be very good, that they must be on time and prepared ...

  • Re: Puzzled?

I said the same thing. I thought it was like crack (New York was so scary in those days) but maybe he was lucky. Not he's saying his father gave him pills before matches. Nic going Dad.

Actually I wondered about Integrity. She went off this board when he retired saying she had lost interest in tennis. Wish she would come back because she was a very good writer. Loved her Agassi rants.

  • Re: Agassi admits use of crystal meth

I thought meth made you an instant addict but honestly I felt worse about his abusive father and thought Andre could have gone down a road of total self destruction simply by saying the heck with it. Nothing I do pleases the old man. His sister suffered horribly as well and who knows what else went in a house with a driven and violent father ...

  • Re: Betting On Tennis matches

Another driven tennis daddy giving bad advice. Playing one more game would not have damaged her for life. Instead he opened up a can of worms. As for betting on tennis there was always one Russian I was very suspicious about and it was not Davydenko. He would get to semis and then suddenly wilt. Later he went on to try to play the poker tour and I ...

  • Re: English paper said new cramping rule put in by ATP

Actually DMan I agree with you. I got him mixed up with Simon Barnes who is a really great sports writer. I have in the past seen several players default because of cramping but generally they walk around, squat a little and usually they give them a little extra time but calling a trainer was pretty rare in the old days.Worst I ever saw was Arazi ...
